Wooden Crates
Now crates are being repurposed and redesigned to add a touch of glamour to your organizing.
A crate is just a crate, right? That’s what I thought until I looked up wooden crates online and found some fabulous ideas and crates that didn’t look at all like I pictured an old wooden crate. Now crates are being repurposed and redesigned to add a touch of glamour to your organizing. And they can be so versatile – from garage tool organizing to rustic planters for your flowers to bookshelves, bare wooden crates can be painted or stained and repurposed to fit your need. Others come already beautiful and ready to use.
Target has beautiful vidaXL solid Acacia wood apple crates in sets of two, and Pillowfort’s cute little wood house caddy that has a handle to carry around tools you need for crafting or building or whatever you imagine it to hold. Wayfair has crates in several price ranges, billed as priced for any budget, but I’d check around to find the style and the prices you want. Wayfair has a set of three adorable wooden crates in graduated sizes with cute little rope handles.
It’s exciting to see all there is out there. I wish I’d known about all these handy crates — many with built-in (cut out) handles — when I was teaching middle school. Life would have been much easier storage wise. Many stores have nesting crates if you’re interested in those.
I especially love the rustic looking bins made of wooden slats. Reminds me of an old fashioned apple bin in the general stores of bygone days. Antique wooden crates are available with names of the old breweries and mills or products still stamped on them, beautiful vintage items. Just look up “antique wooden crates” or “vintage crates” online. Great stuff!
You can stack or place crates in any design you imagine to hold and organize your stuff from the bathroom to the kitchen to your classroom to your garage. If you want some help with planning or getting the work done, ask us!
Thanks!
